Print to your Zebra label printer from anywhere
Backfeed Cloud lets your iPhone, iPad or Mac print to a Zebra ZD printer on another network. The printer connects out to the Backfeed relay, so you don’t need a VPN, port forwarding or a computer left on next to it.
What you need
- A network-capable Zebra ZD printer with internet access, such as a ZD421, ZD411 or ZD410.
- A Backfeed Cloud subscription. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial.
- To be on the printer’s network once, to connect it.
Steps

Start the subscription
In Backfeed, open Settings and choose a Backfeed Cloud plan. There’s no separate account to create.

Connect the printer
On the same network as the printer, open it and tap Connect to Backfeed Cloud. Backfeed sets the printer to connect out to the relay and restarts it. That takes about two minutes, and the app shows each step.

Print from anywhere
Go to Labels, choose a PDF or image, pick the printer and send it through Cloud. It works from any network your phone or Mac is on.
What changes on the printer
Only its cloud connection. Local printing keeps working, and your labels and media settings stay as they were. To undo it, open the printer and choose Disconnect from Cloud.
Plans
Plans are priced by how many printers you connect: 1 printer $3.99, 5 printers $15.99, or up to 25 printers $39.99, per month. While you subscribe, Cloud also covers printing your own files on your local network, so you don’t need the one-time Backfeed Local unlock as well. One subscription covers your iPhone, iPad and Mac.
